Get to know me…

My Motivation
Over the course of my career, I have realized that it is difficult for an ‘average, everyday patient’ to know which physician or specialty is best suited for his or her needs.
I would like my patients and colleagues to have a glimpse at me beyond the ‘spacesuit’ of white coat, mask, and goggles! Just like all of you, I am a son, a brother, a husband, and a father. My Family and I have rough days and weeks, and go through the same hectic attempts to survive everyday life!

Primary Care Sports Medicine
I am currently a team physician for Corry High School. Affiliations change frequently, and, in the past several years, I have served as a team physician for the Erie Otters, Erie Bayhawks, Erie Explosion, Mercyhurst University, Edinboro University, and Mercyhurst Prep High School. From the high school to professional level, it is such an honor to work with these athletes. I am passionate about working with athletes, and I continuously work to expand this part of my practice.

Medical Education
Working in an academic setting has become an extremely rewarding and enjoyable component of my career. Prior to medical residency, I never saw myself as an educator. However, as a medical resident, I was expected to have a medical student or other learner at my side almost every day. This experience made me consider all of the role models and teachers in my life, without whom I never would have achieved my goals.
The world can be a difficult and stressful place. It is my opinion that our society puts an emphasis on all of the negative things in life. Although it may sound cynical, I feel that our society has allowed dignity and work ethic to become optional. Relaying these life qualities to the next generations as an educator is the most meaningful aspect of my career.

Outside of Work
When I am not in the office or covering events on the sidelines, you will almost always find me with family and in the outdoors. I love hiking, fishing, and hunting. A huge stress-reducer for me is exercise, and I enjoy weight lifting and jogging. One thing that many people wouldn’t guess, is that my favorite activity is trail-riding horses. I was lucky enough to be surrounded by horses from the time that I could walk. I have a huge appreciation for all disciplines, particularly general horsemanship and ranch-style riding.

Special Thanks
Work is not my life. Although my career is meaningful, the most special part of my day will always be family. My parents and grandparents taught me honesty, faith, and respect. My wife, Nicole, grew up with those same values. Our little man, Blaise, will turn three in March. Being surrounded by such close family is what gets me through the tough times of life. I cannot thank them enough for the sacrifices that they give for me each and every day.
